About

Peter Wedderburn is a keen runner and also dabbles in cycling and swimming. Although he started running at school doing Cross Country and ran on and off throughout adulthood, it was only in his late forties that he became serious about it. The catalyst was joining The Stragglers Running Club in Kingston upon Thames. Since then he has completed 18 marathons, and many other races including half marathons, 20 milers, 10 miles, 10k and various other running events such as The Green Belt Relay and Welsh Castles. Oh and also 387 parkruns to date.

Peter became involved in race organisation through The Stragglers and has been Race Director for The River Relay since 2012. Around this time he also began to organise races through his company, KBC Special Events Limited. The first KBC branded event was the Harry Hawkes 10 in 2013. This was followed by The Hampton Court Half Marathon in 2014 and since then the portfolio of races has continued to grow with the Royal Borough of Kingston Half and the Kingston Spring Half added over recent years. In 2018 the running events were rebranded under the new trading name, Quicksilver Running.

Peter is married with three grown up children and wife Stella, not forgetting Harry the Dog.  The family home is in Kingston, with Richmond Park just 5 minutes running distance.
